A Brief History Of the Church

1994

At Logos Community Church based in Gosport, a meeting was held to discuss the possibility of basing a new church in the neighbouring town of Lee-On-The-Solent. A significant number showed interest including Andrew Gill and Bob Backhouse. God had provided them with the faith for this a number of years beforehand, and had therefore been praying to see this happen.

1995-2000

A home group was started at Andrew and Kay Gill’s house in Lee. Although small, the group began to build up strong relationships between themselves and others, engaging in various evangelistic outreaches.

The Blue Bird Café in Lee, owned by Andrew and Kay, was the venue for a meeting aimed at formalising relationships and purpose of a fellowship in its own right.

During this time the church has been growing and gaining strength in the local community.

The church was overseen by C.NET Ministries.

2001

Russell and Gerri Chadwick respond to a call from God and move from South Africa to Lee and join the church.

2002-2005

The church is firmly established and experiences growth in number, ministry and maturity: establishes ministry connections in Kenya and Uganda as well as more local places.

2006

Subsequent to the cessation of C.NET as an overseeing ministry the leaders prayerfully decide to relate with NCMI.

The church has seen substantial growth over the past 12 months.

2007 / 2008

Russell and Gerri are sent out to establish a new work in Croydon, John and Elizabeth Young join the leadership and a deacon team are established.
